Presidente Israel pide Papa siga trabajando por libertad rehenes

CIUDAD DEL VATICANO, 18 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -El presidente de Israel, Isaac Herzog, ha agradecido este domingo en persona al nuevo Papa León XIV su dedicatoria a los rehenes en la Franja de Gaza y pedido al pontífice que siga trabajando para impulsar su liberación.

Herzog, con un pin en su chaqueta para conmemorar los 590 días que llevan retenidos los rehenes, también ha mantenido un encuentro con los líderes internacionales y les ha pedido también que «emprendan acciones para lograr su retorno», según un comunicado de la Presidencia israelí.

El mandatario israelí agradeció igualmente la promesa del nuevo Papa para renovar el diálogo interconfesional y acabó invitando al pontífice a Tierra Santa.
