SANTO DOMINGO.- El Gobierno destinó 1,500 millones de pesos adicionales para abastecer a la población de medicamentos contra la influenza, gripe y el ómicron, informó este jueves el presidente Luis Abinader.
El mandatario dijo que esta partida especial será destinada para las medicinas de las farmacias del pueblo y ayudar con ello a controlar la distorsión y los problemas de logística que han tenido las farmacias privadas.
Igualmente, comunicó que en el país no hay estrés hospitalario y que los hospitales están en menos de un 30% de ocupación de camas, ventiladores y Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI).
MÉDICOS MILITARES EN RESERVA
Aseguró que tienen una reserva mucho mayor preparado y en el caso del ausentismo laboral que la variante ómicron ha creado en algunos países, también lo han previsto y por eso desde el lunes los médicos militares están en reserva para cualquier situación especial, aunque no sido necesario utilizarlos.
“Lo que le quiero decir al pueblo dominicano es que pueden confiar en el Gabinete de Salud. Estamos en situaciones especiales, pero en esas situaciones hemos tomado las medidas correctas y eso lo prueban las estadísticas favorables que tenemos”, expresó.
Abinader dijo que el Gobierno está tomando las medidas que le convienen al pueblo, respetando su salud de manera integral y que en ese sentido los ministerios de Salud y Educación están haciendo las consultas y los estudios de lugar para decidir sobre el tema de las escuelas.
«En todo el mundo, debido a que tenemos una variante muy contagiosa, prácticamente indetenible, pero al mismo tiempo menos letal, en el 98% de los países del mundo no hay restricciones, se están abriendo las escuelas, y recuerden lo que he dicho, que en condiciones especiales, teníamos que ir aprendiendo a vivir con el COVID”, señaló.
PRUEBAS A TURISTAS
Expuso que en el caso de turismo, al llegar al país, se hacen pruebas aleatorias de las cuales al 31 de diciembre del año pasado, los positivos eran menos de 1%, y al mismo tiempo al regresar a sus países se le hacen pruebas PCR.
Agregó que en el caso de los que llegan de países con situación especial, como es el caso de Inglaterra o Sudáfrica, se les pide la prueba PCR y tarjeta de vacunación.
“Estamos tomando todas las medidas para asegurar que podamos tener un país con una salud segura pero al mismo tiempo que podamos continuar con nuestra economía. A los que hablan de confinamiento y de volver atrás, eso es imposible, no hay las condiciones, ni hay tampoco la necesidad en ese sentido”, sostuvo el Mandatario.
Hablando en el Palacio Nacional este jueves, Abinader garantizó que el país cuenta con suficientes espacios en las unidades de cuidados intensivos de Covid-19 y que están preparados para cualquier situación.
