RD refuerza seguridad puertos y aeropuertos por fiestas Navidad

SANTO DOMINGO.- Más de 100 agentes y unidades caninas de la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas reforzarán las operaciones contra del narcotráfico y otros delitos en las principales terminales aéreas y portuarias de República Dominicana de cara a las fiestas navideñas, anunció este lunes la DNCD.

Con el apoyo de otros organismos de inteligencia, la DNCD refuerza así los operativos de vigilancia e interdicción en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana, Las Américas y las terminales de La Romana, el Cibao y Puerto Plata, así como los puertos de Caucedo, Haina Oriental y Monte Cristi, según un comunicado de la agencia antidrogas.

«A partir de este momento se están enviando un total de 140 agentes y unidades caninas, componentes operacionales, que tienen la misión de actuar respetando los derechos de las personas, pero procediendo de manera firme para impedir el tráfico ilícito de drogas y otros delitos, en las terminales del país», añadió la nota.

El objetivo es ampliar la capacidad operativa y de actuación, ante el aumento de pasajeros y mercancías en puertos y aeropuertos en las Navidades.

Además, agregó, conforme se acerquen las fiestas de Navidad y Año Nuevo se dispondrá de un mayor despliegue de agentes en sus áreas operativas.
