Temblor de 4.5 grados sacudió este lunes a la provincia Espaillat
SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana.- Un temblor de tierra de 4.5 grados en la escala de Richter fue registrado la madrugada de este martes en la provincia Espaillat.
El Centro Nacional de Sismología (CNS) de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo informó que la sacudida se produjo a las 4:58 de la madrugada, con epicentro a 13.1 kilómetros al norte de Moca.
La profundidad fue de unos 20.1 kilómetros y, de acuerdo con la CNS, no representó ningún peligro para el país, ya que este tipo de eventos ocurren con frecuencia en la isla.
Explicó que estos fenómenos ocurren debido a que la tierra cada cierto tiempo libera energía y lo manifiesta de esa manera.
Por el momento no hay reporte de víctimas ni daños.
